Overview

Airspace Experience Technologies (ASX: iflyasx.com) has a limited number of technical positions available for talented individuals passionate about flight. ASX has over a decade of eVTOL engineering and flight experience and is currently building a full-size development vehicle, the Sigma Six, for flight evaluations at its Detroit City Airport Engineering Center. The performance envelope of this electric aircraft exceeds that of high-end supercars and its operating cost on a $/lb./mile/hour basis is less than a class 8 truck. Job Description

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of general shop experience
  • 2+ years of experience working as an electrical technician
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and all necessary equipment
  • Be able to work directly with composite and resin materials
  • Valid driver’s license
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred
  • Familiar with safety code requirements and company safety regulations

Responsibilities

  • Be familiar with the use of various machining tools including but not limited to mills, lathes, and other manufacturing machinery
  • Interpret CAD and prints for manufacturing
  • Knowledgeable in development of automated CNC toolpaths
  • Able to create drafts in CAD for manufacturing tasks
  • General porter when needed
  • Assist engineers with manufacturability studies
  • Contribute ideas and solutions to improve the plane's design, manufacturing and assembly
  • Fabricate and finish components
  • Install mechanical components including motors, inverters and thermal management systems
  • Safety check systems prior to performance tests
  • General vehicle wiring fabrication and installation
  • Conduct tests and assessments of new systems and repairs to ensure quality
  • Assemble and install electrical panels, wire harnesses, and other electrical equipment
  • Respond quickly to all service requests and efficiently troubleshoot and repair electrical systems
  • Communicate estimated timelines for repairs to those impacted
  • Install new equipment and wiring to expand infrastructure as needed
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a regular schedule
  • Log all services and report progress to management
  • Utilize and store all equipment properly

Skills

  • Knowledgeable in use of manufacturing machinery
  • Able to work unsupervised for long periods of time
  • Solidworks experience (Preferred, but not required)
  • Exceptional skill in applying discretion, judgment, and initiative within established guidelines, rules, and procedures
  • Ability to define problems, determine facts, and draw accurate conclusions
  • Ability to create and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees, supervisors, suppliers, vendors, contractors, and external public agencies;
  • Possess knowledge and ability to implement safe work practices and document same as ASX policy
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints, construct wiring harnesses, select connectors and apply power and hand tools
